Many making a difference
A small, well-coordinated army of lineworkers — 458 total — provided dawn ’til dusk work to restore electricity to the thousands of North Dakotans who lost power as a result of the January storm.

This number included local co-op lineworkers, workers coming from elsewhere in North Dakota and from four other states.

In addition to KEM Electric and Mor-Gran-Sou Electric, electric cooperatives in North Dakota that also experienced storm damage resulting in outages for hundreds of their members included: Slope Electric, New England; Roughrider Electric; Hazen/Dickinson; Dakota Valley Electric, Carrington/Edgeley; and Verendrye Electric, Velva. Members of all of these cooperatives can read more about cooperative storm recovery efforts in their local co-op center pages in the March edition of North Dakota LIVING.
