DAKOTA VALLEY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE WINS LOCAL PAGES AWARD
The North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives (NDAREC) presented Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative with the Local Pages Award at is 80th annual meeting, Feb. 7. The award honors a cooperative for excellence in its North Dakota Living local pages in the areas of content, use of photography and page composition. Dakota Valley's local pages editor of 40 years, Pat Schaffer, accepted the award on behalf of the cooperative.
While only one cooperative took home the award this year, each cooperative should be proud of its local pages. The judges commended all electric cooperatives for their efforts to communicate professionally and effectively with their members through the North Dakota Living local pages. Collectively, North Dakota’s electric cooperatives are providing “well-written news and feature stories about relevant people and events, accompanied by photographs that capably illustrate the stories,” one judge remarked. Sharp photos, engaging stories and graphics bring the local cooperatives' efforts alive. The judges said the work being done by cooperatives and co-op communicators in North Dakota Living demonstrates the value that print communication brings to an organization.
